Buff Spells
All six buff spells in Master Healer Kale — Inspiration, Iron Faith, Haste Prayer, Mana Font, Barrier of Light, and Beacon of Hope with durations and synergy tips.
The Role of Buffs
Buff spells temporarily enhance your party's combat effectiveness or Kale's casting sustainability. Unlike heals that react to damage already taken, buffs are proactive — cast before damage spikes or during calm windows to maximize uptime. Six buff spells cover damage amplification, damage reduction, attack speed, mana regeneration, party shields, and a powerful long-duration beacon that passively tops party health.
Buffs define mid-game and late-game build identity. A healer-focused build runs Mana Font and Beacon of Hope for casting sustainability; a party damage build stacks Inspiration and Iron Faith to accelerate kills. All buffs are party-wide unless noted, affecting Grandpa Bagel, Madeleine, Klepon, and Kale. See the builds hub for loadout templates.
Inspiration and Iron Faith
Inspiration increases all party members' attack damage by 12% for fifteen seconds with a twenty-second cooldown. Cast it at the start of each trash pull or boss phase to maximize auto-attack DPS from your allies. Inspiration is cheap on mana and should be maintained near 100% uptime in optimized runs — set a mental timer or watch the buff icon on the party frame.
Iron Faith adds 15% spell damage to Kale specifically for ten seconds. It pairs with offensive spells from the offensive spell guide, especially Judgment Beam and Void Lance. Iron Faith costs moderate mana and has a fifteen-second cooldown. Cast it before your highest-damage spell rather than on cooldown blindly.
Haste Prayer and Mana Font
Haste Prayer increases party attack speed by 10% for twelve seconds. Attack speed buffs multiply with Inspiration for compound DPS gains. Madeleine benefits most because her dual-wield attacks scale with speed. Haste Prayer has a longer cooldown than Inspiration, so stagger the two buffs rather than casting them simultaneously unless opening a boss fight.
Mana Font regenerates 8% of your maximum mana pool instantly and increases passive mana regen by 50% for eight seconds. It is essential for long boss fights where healing and damage compete for the same pool. Cast Mana Font proactively at 50% mana rather than waiting for empty — the regen buff window generates more total mana over time than the instant restore alone. Detailed pool math appears in the mana management guide.
Barrier of Light and Beacon of Hope
Barrier of Light grants all party members a damage absorption shield equal to 10% of their max HP for twenty seconds. Unlike Guardian Ward which shields one target, Barrier protects everyone — ideal before unavoidable AoE boss mechanics. The thirty-second cooldown means one Barrier per phase on most encounters. Time it with boss telegraphs documented in the mid-dungeon walkthrough.
Beacon of Hope is a persistent ground effect lasting thirty seconds that slowly heals all allies standing in its radius and increases healing received by 10%. Place Beacon at the start of long fights and refresh before expiration. Beacon costs significant mana upfront but reduces per-tick healing costs over its duration, making it mana-positive on fights longer than twenty seconds. It is Kale's most skill-tree-dependent buff — several nodes extend radius and add mana regen to allies inside the beacon.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do buffs stack with each other?
Yes. Inspiration, Haste Prayer, and Iron Faith stack simultaneously. Multiple casts of the same buff refresh duration rather than stacking intensity.
Do buffs persist between dungeon floors?
No. All buffs expire when a floor completes or when you enter a new encounter zone. Re-cast buffs at the start of each pull.
Which buff is most important for beginners?
Inspiration. The passive DPS increase helps your party kill enemies faster, which reduces total healing needed. Mana Font becomes critical once you equip more than four active spells.
Can enemies dispel my buffs?
Some late-game bosses apply dispel mechanics to party members. Kale's buffs on herself cannot be dispelled by enemies. Use Purify from the healing spell list to remove enemy debuffs that counter your buffs.
